It's time to skip the Gym and try Kinect's first fitness title from Ubisoft that will get you loosing calories and building muscle in no time.
Ubisoft's Your Shape fitness series started on the Nintendo Wii and has now made it's way to Kinect. There's bound to be many fit games using the Kinect technology and Your Shape Fitness Evolved is the first to do it. The game has got a great advantage from the Wii versions as Kinect can track your whole body and movement. It works extremely well for the most part, I say most part because it does have some issues. At times you can be copying your personal trainer perfectly and not be scored for it. Apart from that, Your Shape FE is a great start to keeping you fit with Kinect.
Before you can start using Your Shape FE your body will be scanned using the Kinect Sensor. This will track your personal shape when exercising and navigating throughout the menus. You will then select your weight and a profile picture which adds to your personal profile. This keep track of your score, how many calories you have burned and how many more you need to for your next objective.
There's a bunch of activities for you to choose from. Personal Training, Fitness Classes and Gym games. Personal training is a one‐on‐one activity were you must copy one of many trainers throughout the sessions. You can also learn Zen and Cardio boxing. Gym games add a little entertainment value to the product. You can play Loop‐a-Hoop, Virtual Smash and more. Virtual Smash requires punching and kicking as you break objects that appear. Loop‐a-Hoop gave me the most enjoyment from the mini games. It works real enough to actually think there's a hoop around you.
Your Shape FE is a great start to show you what fitness titles can do with Kinect. It does have a few issues but it's still one of the strongest Kinect titles out there. If you have Kinect and are looking to keep fit, Your Shape FE is something you should give a shot.
