Kyhber Strike is Ubisoft's third piece of downloadable content for the tactical shooter. With it's solid multiplayer, there was no doubt that Ubisoft wouldn't have any DLC lined up. The previous content, Raven Strike, focuses heavily on the CO-op campaign. With Khyber Strike, it's all about the competitive multiplayer. The pack contains three new maps, a guerrilla mode map, along with a new game mode called Takeover. It also features new achievements and a level cap of ten, making the highest reachable level to 70, if all three content is purchased.
Starting with the maps, the first on the list is Palace. As the title states, the map takes place within a large palace. There are narrow halls, and plenty of areas to overlook your enemies. It also has many routes throughout each side of the map. The new mode, All of the game modes, including the new Takeover mode,
fit in very nicely, and is one of the best DLC maps yet.
The second map, Switchback, is one of my favourite maps out of them all. The outside maps are always my presonal favourites, and Swtichback is a great one. The map takes place within a small town. It's a very open area with plenty of cover spots, but not may places to hide. There is a long road with vehicles parked along it. The open area will result in closer fire-fights, and it will be tricky to remain undetected.
Transit takes place inside a Russian underground rain station. It a very large map that features an upper and lower level. It also has two trains that run along the track, and they will kill you if you get in the way. Transit is one of the largest maps yet, but it's narrow passageways offer close quarter combat.
The new mode Takover, is simply a classic take on the traditional Team Deathmatch. At both teams base there is a capture point. Capturing the enemies base will gain your team a score bonus. It's a great new addition, and is welcoming when considering no Team Deathmatch was available at launch.
Village - Guerrilla Map
Finally, the new Guerrilla map, Village, features plenty of small houses to hide in. It's an interesting change, and the rainy weather is a nice touch.
Kyhber Strike is one of the best DLC content on offer yet. With 3 great maps, a new game type, and another Guerrila map, it's hard not to recommend for 800MP.
