Every year a new Call Of Duty game is released with high anticipation thanks to it's addictive multiplayer. It plays a massive part in the franchise and the developers always find a way to make it bigger and better every time. The question is does Treyarch continue this path with Black Ops? The answer is yes. Black Ops has to be the biggest and most successful game in the franchise yet.
The game starts off with you "Alex Mason" strapped to a chair in a interrogation room. With questions constantly thrown at him he is soon asked about the location of a numbers station. Alex cannot remember and struggles to answer the questions asked. You will play as Alex for the majority of the campaign aswell as some other characters through flashbacks.
The campaign is mind-blowing. Its great pace keeps you entertained throughout, chucking something new at you in every level. The games visuals and detail can be simply stunning. It has some of the best action packed moments I have ever set eyes on. Vietnam levels are my most memorable parts of the campaign.
Multiplayer is mainly the reason lots of people purchased Black Ops. The ranking system and prestiging is back but the new currency system gives you more freedom of choice. When gaining XP you also earn in game currency which can be spent on unlocked weapons, attachments, facepaint, camo and more. You can choose to save the money or spend it as you wish. Titles and emblems have returned which appeared in last years MW2. This time you can customize your emblem by adding layers and changing the color. But that's not all, you can show off your created design by adding it to your weapon including your clang tag.
The biggest new addition to multiplayer is Wadger Matches. These can be extremely intense and have you betting your earnt currency to try win more by coming first, second or third. One In the Chamber has to be the most intense mode of them all. This has you playing against five other players in a free-for-all style game. You all start with three lives and one bullet. Every kill you get earns you an extra bullet. If you run out of them you will be forced to use your knife. Winning these modes don't offer you a large amount of currency but it's still great fun and worth checking out.
Another new addition to multiplayer is Theater Mode. This lets you play back your previous matches and record them as you wish. It's very useful if you want to capture a great moment and share it with the community.
Zombies has made a welcome return. Just like in World At War the four player co-op mode has you surviving waves of zombies for as long as possible. Killing Zombies will earn you a score and points which can be spent on new weapons and perks.
Treyarch pulled it off. Its amazing action packed campaign and new multiplayer modes and features makes this the biggest and most impressive game in the series.
